• When requesting a quote, we will need the following information:
- Type of bindery
- Dimensions of book and binding edge
- # of inside text sheets and stock
- # of tabs and stock (if applicable)
- If books will come to us fully collated, partially collated or if we are to collate. If you do not specify otherwise, we will assume books are fully collated.
• DO NOT insert a slip sheet between books if you have collated the covers on the books. If slip sheets are required for books without covers, do not use an under- or over-sized slip sheet. Slip sheets should be the same size as the inside text sheets and ideally should be a heavier weight and brighter color than the book itself.
• DO NOT use rubber bands, paper clips or paper bands to separate the books.
• DO package the books for automated punching -- one on top of another, with all books oriented in the same direction (just as though you were going to put the sheets in a press or copy machine).
• DO provide a collating sample, drilling sample and any other pertinent info for completing your job accurately.
• DO call ahead to schedule your job if possible. Of course, we will accept work without advance scheduling but if we agree to a production schedule in advance, you’re guaranteed to receive it on time or ahead of schedule.
• DO call ahead if you will require colors other than black or white so we can make sure the spines arrive before your job.
• DO provide us with a due date and time if at all possible.
• DO give us a minimum of 2% overs to compensate for machine jams due to paper curl and uneven cutting (particularly if you need an exact quantity).
